Experience

I love teaching and curriculum design, and I will create lessons specifically for your needs and goals that are both effective and fun. I am currently teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) at an elementary school in southern Israel. Before this, I ran an immersive Hebrew early learning program for three years, teaching young children academic and religious subjects in Hebrew. By the end of the program, these native English speakers were able to read, write, and speak Hebrew on grade level, and their English literacy skills were above grade level. I also teach Hebrew to individuals and small groups of adults, and in the past I have offered courses such as "Understanding Hebrew Verbs," "Hebrew Through Stories," and "Hebrew Reading 101." I worked as a college writing tutor from 2007-2010, as a high school algebra teaching assistant from 2008-2010, and as a 1st and 5the grade math & ELA tutor from 2007-2009. I'm available to tutor online via Zoom, which has live audio, video, a white board, screensharing capabilities, and more. It really provides 100% of the in-person tutoring experience with none of the inconvenience!

Hobbies

I'm an NYC native who moved to Charlotte almost four years ago, but I'm currently living and teaching in Israel. I love creating instructional materials, and offer many of my creations for free or low-cost on my website, www.thekefar.com. I work well with students of all ages, from very young to college-age and beyond. When I'm not teaching or designing curricula, you can find me baking or traveling internationally.
